And with international music artists and cultural events in nearby abundance, being regional doesn’t mean missing out.

Food & wine

As the most sought-after wine region to visit, Singleton’s location in the heart of the Hunter Valley means it is home to world-renowned wine producers, farmers and an abundance of local produce. Explore the wine and food trails of Around Hermitage and Broke Fordwich and discover stunning scenery, estate-grown wines, award-winning restaurants, luxury accommodation and galleries.

Nature’s playground

An incredible 40 per cent of the Singleton local government comprises the world heritage-listed Wollemi, Yengo and Mount Royal National Parks. Explore unspoilt bushland, epic wilderness and bush tracks including the largest remaining area of wilderness in NSW, as well as rocky ridges, steep gorges and Aboriginal sacred sites and culturally-significant rock engravings.

Wander out yonder and find the walking and water sports territory that is beautiful Lake St Clair, located just 30 minutes from town. During the warmer months, the lake is a beacon for swimming, sailing, water skiing, camping and fishing. The foreshore provides a picturesque location for a picnic or barbecue, and visitors can meet with native wildlife including kangaroos and echidnas, as well as an abundance of birdlife.

Arts & Culture

Opening in 2022, Singleton Arts + Cultural Centre has developed as a showcase for exhibitions of contemporary art by local, regional, national, and international artists and is home to the Singleton Civic Art Collection.

History comes to life through historic buildings and landmarks on the Singleton Heritage Walk and Singleton Historical Museum, and visitors can explore the Australian Army Infantry Museum at Lone Pine Barracks, the custodian of Infantry Corps history and the place to learn about Australia’s army deployments to Gallipoli, The Somme, Tobruk, The Kokoda Trail, Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan.
